Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad Monday said that the families living in village Kandizal MC Awantipora in district Pulwama to be covered under 'Housing for All'.This was decided in an officers meeting chaired by the Minister convened to review the overall progress of construction of different works carried by the Municipal Committees of Pampore, Awantipora and Khrew here today.The Minister asked the authorities of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Department to conduct special survey of the area and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard and start work on the project immediately. He asked them to construct individual latrine points to all in the village and also instructed them to install 5 LED lights there.It was decided in the meeting that the Department will provide two  Hopper Vans each to Municipal Committee Pampore and Khrew soon to meet out the required needs.Taking stock of working of Municipal Committee Pampore, the Minister asked the concerned to start construction work for up-gradation and development of 8 Parks in the Pampore and ensure timely completion of their work.The Minister asked the concerned to demolish all illegal structures in Pampore Town and ensure that there should be no encroachment on State land.

While discussing the achievement registered in Municipal Committee Awantipora,   it was informed in the meeting that 40 LED lights with an estimated cost of Rs 1.30 lakh were installed and the construction work on various ongoing developmental works under Integrated Development of Medium Towns (IDMT), Urban Development Sector (UDS), Normal and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) are apace in the area.The Minister asked them to work with utmost dedication and speed up the pace of work on all ongoing works and complete them in a stipulated time frame.Mir Zahoor directed the ULB Department to start construction work on Shopping Complex at Awantipora for which he announced for release of an amount of Rs 5 lakh out of CDF. He also asked them that the shopping complex should be modern and Mall type.Detailed discussions were also held on status of works executed under different heads in Municipal Committee Khrew during 2017-2018. It was informed in the meeting that 80 LED lights were repaired and 60 LED lights were installed in the area. It was also given in the meeting that 12 different types of works were taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 86.68 lakh in Khrew area and the construction work on these projects are apace.

Mir Zahoor directed for construction of public Park and Shelter Shed at Khrew. He also asked authorities of MC Khrew to speed up the tendering process of all developmental works within a week’s time.The UEED authorities informed the meeting that a drainage scheme project Khrew stands already submitted to the concerned quarter for accord of their approval.During the meeting, issues of Zaffron Sumo Associations were also discussed and the Minister directed the concerned to settle their genuine issues on priority.Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that the present Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was taking appropriate measures for upgrading the civic facilities in all Municipal Committees of the State. He said special focus is on the development of roads, cleanliness, improvement of drainage system and equal attention is being paid for the beautification of the towns. He asked the officers to redouble their efforts and ensure that the available funds should be utilized in full and judiciously. Mir Zahoor also asked them to achieve the fixed targets of the current fiscal in full.The meeting was attended by the Director, ULB Kashmir Riyaz Ahmad and other Senior Officers of Local and Urban Development Department and UEED.
