The Shiormani Akali Dal today hit back at PPCC President and Gurdaspur  Congress nominee Mr. Sunil Jakhar for leveling baseless, false and  malicious allegations against the SAD-BJP leadership and said that he has forgotten that it was the Congress party which has betrayed the people of Punjab and not the SAD-BJP alliance.Coming down heavily on the Congress leader, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that from the allegations Mr Jakhar has proved to be a true Congressman who has chosen to attack SAD leadership just to divert the attention of the people from the debt waiver issue, failure to provide jobs to the youth of Punjab and the overall miserable performance of the Congress government in the last six months. Dr. Cheema further said that it is the old habit of Mr. Jakhar to speak repeated lies to raise false issues as he did in the general elections by labeling the Rs. 32000 crore transportation charges settlement issue as a scandal in which later the Capt Amarinder Singh government admitted that this money has been unnecessarily forced on Punjab. He said that it appears that Mr. Jakhar lives in fools paradise and is unaware of spate of incidents of sacrilege occurred during the last six month rule of the Congress government.

He said that it was gameplan of the Congress party to defame the sikh community and Congress was instrumental in organizing the so called Sarbat Khalsa in Amritsar. He questioned the Congress leader on why such elements who were up  against the SAD-BJP government were now silent on these issues. He said that it is always the Congress party which uses its protégés to instigate the people of Punjab now it was turn of Mr. Jakhar to do so.Lashing out at the PPCC President on the GST issue, Dr. Cheema said that perhaps Mr. Jakhar is unware that it is for the GST Council to decide on the issue in which Finance Minsiter of Punjab Mr. Manpreeet Singh Badal has badly failed to raise or convince the members of the council. He also reminded him that the SAD-BJP government had waived of VAT for the Golden Temple and other religious place but the Congress Government of Punjab has again failed to live upto expectations in this field also as it had the power to waive of 50 percent of the GST of its quota. The SAD leader urged Mr. Jakhar   to direct his party to waive the state share of 50 percent of GST in religious place without any delay.
