Reviews rescue, relief arrangements; interacts with affected people

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today visited shelling hit villages in border areas of Samba district and took stock of the situation there.A high level team of district administration led by Deputy Commissioner, Shetal Nanda accompanied the Minister. The Minister took detailed review of the situation and preparedness of the administration to deal with the emergency situation including arrangements for rescue, relief and providing prompt healthcare in case of injury.Minister visited border villages of Mahal Shahan, Ramloo and Ramgarh of Vijaypur constituency to take stock of the situation in the backdrop of repeated ceasefire violation and shelling from across the border. He also interacted with displaced border residents putting up at relief Camp established in Radha Swami Sat Sang ghar Thandi Khui.

While interacting with affected families, the Minister assured them all necessary help from the Government and directed civil administration and police to be vigilant in the vulnerable areas and immediately respond at times of border shelling.He also directed concerned officers to remain present in their respective jurisdictions to deal with any emergency situation. He directed the local administration to remain prepared for prompt action in case of any exigency.Ganga asked people to remain vigilant and also advised the villagers to stay indoors and at shift to safer places during cross border shelling. SSP Anil Magotra, SDM Vijaypur, Ravinder Sharma, Tehsildar and other district officers were also part of   the official team.
