DC Shopian reviews functioning of Revenue Department

Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Revenue Department in the district.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Agriculture Officer, besides all Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and Girdawars of the district attended the meeting.The meeting reviewed the progress of writing of Jamabandies, Girdawaries, Attestations of pending mutations, Amadaramad, Goshwara Jiniswara for Kharif 2017 as per prescribed format besides distribution of passbooks record position of revenue targets, removal of encroachments from Kachchari land, revenue court cases and attestations of mutations of land acquired by various Departments.It was given out that 24 Jamabandies have been completed and 42 are under process, so far. Girdawari writing of 87 villages has been completed and of 27 villages are under process.The DC directed the Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Girwaras to conduct village wise visit and submit the weekly progress report for the same to the district administration.

Regarding crop cut, the meeting was informed that Form 1st has been submitted to the Financial Commissioner well in time and Form 2nd is under process and will be completed very soon.The Deputy Commissioner directed the Revenue officers to hold Public Service Guarantee Act camps to ensure delivery of public services and redressal of all grievances in a time bound manner.Further, he asked the field agencies to tour their respective areas for redressal of the grievances of the general public with regard to revenue related matters.The DC was briefed about the status of revenue records mutations, settlements, removal of encroachments land acquisition and relief and rehabilitation measures.It was said that 465 Kanals of Bhung Crop has been destroyed in Zainapora and Chittragam in a joint exercise of Revenue and Excise Department.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the Revenue officials to work with added zeal and enthusiasm. He said that the Department holds key for efficient and effective grievance redressal in the district adding that a total commitment is required to achieve the set administrative targets.Laying special emphasis on implementation of Public Service Guarantee Act and Right to Information Act in letter and spirit, the DC directed the concerned officers to maintain a proper record of applications received and disposed thereof.
