Sukhnandan chairs Petitions Committee meeting

A meeting of the Committee on Petitions of Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar to discuss the status of petitions filed before the Committee.Legislators, Yawar Ahmed Mir, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Ishfaq Ahmed Sheikh and Anjum Fazili attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions to further improve the functioning of the Committee and fast disposal of Petitions.In today’s meeting, the Committee discussed a specific petition filed by Mohammad Sultan Reshi and Wali Mohammad Reshi, residents of Taki Sangreshi, Hazarbal Srinagar with regard to the alleged fraudulent sale of their land by some residents in connivance with the revenue authorities.The Committee observed the compliance report which has been submitted by the Revenue department after handing over the possession of land to the petitioner duly identified and demarcated by the Revenue Department as per the direction of the Committee. It directed the concerned authorities to take appropriate steps for the protection of the petitioners through concerned SHO during the process of fencing the land and submitting a compliance report in this regard to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.Another petition by the President Ayush Doctors Association Kashmir (ADAK), regarding relinquishing the additional charge of Director ISM from Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, who stands designated as Secretary Technical in the Department of Health & Medical Education was also partially discussed.Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner/ Secretary GAD, Khurshid Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Purnima Mittal Shah were also present in the meeting and briefed the Committee on the issues. Among others, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M R Singh, senior officers of Revenue, Health & Medical Education and Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
