DC launches sanitation drive under SWACHHATA HI SEVA campaign

A sanitation drive under “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign was organized by the district administration in  collaboration of  Jammu Municipal Corporation and Sulabh International Social Service Organization under Swachh Bharat Mission today  in and around the DC office complex.

The staff members took Swachhata Hi Sewa pledge alongwith Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, ADDC Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, ADC Jammu Kanta Devi, , AC (Revenue)  Nisar Ahmad Shad & Chief Planning Officer  Girdhari Lal Sharma.The Deputy Commissioner while addressing the gathering informed about the activities taken up by the district administration under Swachh Bharat Mission and called for active partaking of the stakeholders in making the campaign successful and realize the dream of clean India.In the campaign A. K. Singh, Hony. Controller, Sulabh International Social Service organization, Jammu and Kashmir Branch addressed the gathering and apprised about the sanitation and social activities taken by Sulabh International Social Service organization throughout the India. He said that Sulabh International Social Service organization is working in 28 States in India. Organization has constructed 10,500 public toilets which are being maintained on pay and use basis. Organization has also constructed 13 lac individual toilets (sulabh shauchalayas). Organization is working since 1970 in the field of sanitation. An exhibition was also organized about the activities being conducted by Sulabh International Social Service organization. Exhibition was appreciated by the district administration.Earlier, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal Expert SLRM, Jammu Welcomed the Participants and discussed the benefits of SLRM.A sanitation drive was also conducted in and around the office complex in which staff members also participated with full enthusiasm. This event was part of celebration Swachhta Hi Seva campaign being conducted all over the Country w.e.f. 15th Sept. to 2nd Oct 2017.
