Abdul Ghani Kohli inaugurates Rs 40 lakh Trout Rearing Farm at Nobra

Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today inaugurated Trout Rearing Fish Farm at village Hunder in Nobra Constituency. An amount of Rs 33.15 Lakh have been incurred on the project out of an estimated cost of 40 Lakh sanctioned under Centrally Sponsored Scheme so far.On the occasion, the Minister directed the Executive Engineer, Public Works Department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for extension of Fish Farm and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds.At Fish Farm Shey the Minister also inaugurated Mini Aquarium Hall established at a cost of Rs 8 lacs. The authorities of Fisheries Department briefed the Minister about the activities of the pisciculture in district Leh.The Minister asked the Fisheries Department to work with utmost dedication and adopt latest techniques to ensure increase in fish production in the district. He also asked them to aware general masses about the schemes launched by the Centre and State Governments for the unemployed youth and general people .

During the tour, the Minister also inspected Alpine Goat Farm at village Hunder and took stock of its functioning.He was informed that the Goats have been brought from Switzerland and have increased capacity of milk production.During his visit to Turtuk, the people put forth several demands which include upgrading of Health Centre as Community Health Centre, opening of road from Turtuk to Hanu village and providing of additional staff of Lectures for Government Higher Secondary School, Turtuk. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. On the spot, the Minister ordered for construction of Fish Farm at Turtuk. In this regard he asked the concerned officials to prepare DPR and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangements of funds.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that PM Narinder Modiji and present coalition Govt is committed for the development of the State of Jammu and Kashmir especially hilly and remote areas. He said several initiates are underway in this regard and the Centre is providing liberal funding for the development of the State but need is to utilize them in full and judiciously.Among others, Commissioner Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry Department, Director Fisheries, Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry Kashmir and other Senior Officers of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh and allied departments were accompanied the Minister during his tour.
