Minister of State for Finance and Planning today stressed on labor department to cover all laborers under various schemes and ensure their full implementation at the grass root level.This he said while speaking during an awareness programme organized by labor department at Durga Bhawan Panthal road Katra. The Minister also distributed over 100 labor cards and financial assistance cheques among the beneficiaries working with various construction agencies in Katra and other adjoining areas.Appreciating the department for this initiative, the Minister further stressed for launching door to door drives to make the labor class fully aware about their rights and benefits as enshrined in various welfare schemes.The Minister stressed on the department to organize similar camps in other parts of the district for benefit of the people. He informed that anyone can apply for registration through online mode while sitting at home and in this regard the department has to educate the local people, the Minister added.The Minister also encouraged the participants to adopt cash less mode of payments and to be familiar with the welfare legislation to safeguard the rights of labor community. He said different types of innovative programmes should be organized by department on regular basis.Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Labor Commissioner Amir Choudhary informed that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out for all blocks of the district and dedicated efforts would be made to bring all laborers under the ambit of welfare schemes.  It was informed that over 15 welfare schemes are going on in the district under  different components .Among others  SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, Tehsildar Mohit Raina and other officers and officials were present on the occasion.
