Nazir Laway reviews progress of DISHA

Directs officers to ensure full utilisation of funds for creating sustainable assets

Member of Parliament, Nazir Ahmad Laway who is also co-chairperson, District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) - DISHA, Kulgam today reviewed the progress of agglomerate of schemes under DISHA here at Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.The District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Mr. Talat Parvez Rohella gave a brief description of the schemes being implemented under DISHA in the district. He assured the co-chairman that all the departments are working with zeal and zest in order to ensure the completion of different schemes.The MP was briefed that under MGNREGS, 48622 job cards have been issued so far generating 10000 man-days by August, 2017. It was given out that work on 5112 spill-overs is going on.A total of 418 Self-Help Groups have been formed this year so far covering 49 villages under NRLM. Under this scheme, boosting the rural economy is the prime motive. The chairmen directed the concerned officer to constitute more SHGs as this will pull out a lot of youth from the morass of unemployment.With respect to education, the CEO apprised that under RMSA, work on 7 buildings has been completed so far while as work on 3 others is going on. An expenditure of 56.62% of the Rs 608 lacs has been incurred so far.The Chief Medical Officer informed that 98% institutional deliveries, 100% immunisation and 96% coverage under IPIP has been achieved in the district. Under JSSK, an expenditure of Rs 21.5 lacs has been made so far under which medicare facilities to 1864 pregnant women have been provided. Under JSY, 1287 mothers have been provided financial assistance.

Under PMGSY, a road-length of 221.35 Kms has been added to the district roads through 88 completed schemes covering 74 habitations and benefiting 256054 souls. AEE PMGSY informed that during the current year, 7 schemes shall be completed.To provide the financial assistance to the poor and weaker sections, the DSWO informed that an expenditure of 66.67% of Rs 230 lacs has been achieved so far. He said that weaker, senile and widows are being provided assistance under ISSS. He further informed that the direct benefit transfer shall soon take-off in the district as the department is in the process of linking the bank accounts of the beneficiaries with AADHAR. It was detailed that a total of 15066 gas connections have been provided to the female BPL households of which 4879 connections were provided without loan under Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana.The Power development department has undertaken a massive process of upgradation the infrastructure. Under RAPDRP, a project worth Rs 6.16 Cr has been approved for Kulgam town while as Rs 17 Cr has been approved for upgradation 7 towns of the district under IPDS. Under DDUGJ, upgrading the power infrastructure for Rs 21.78 Cr has been tendered out to PGCIL which shall be benefitting 150 habitations.The MP directed the officers to ensure the full utilisation of funds so that durable and sustainable assets are created in the district.The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACD, CMO, CEO, Exens of PDD, PHE, AEE PMGSY, DSWO and other district officers.
