Election Department kick off awareness campaign for Assembly elections

The Election department of the state today started awareness campaign for the ensuing Vidhan Sabha elections in the state in the presence of senior Deputy Chief Election Commissioner of Election Commission of India Umesh Sinha.Chief Electoral Officer of the State Pushpender Rajpoot said that VVPAT electronic voting machines would be used during this election in the State.The Election department has sent information regarding use of VVPAT machines to the 30 lakhs voters of the State through SMS, whose mobile numbers are available with the department.

He said awareness camps would be organised upto booth level in villages and towns to provide information to the people about the use of VVPAT machines with electronic voting machines for the first time in the state.
