Govt. mulling to start pre-primary classes : Virbhadra Singh

The government mulls to start pre-primary school classes for the tiny-tots so as to enable them to grasp the lessons easily in primary classes. This was stated  by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today  while presiding over 2nd Himachal Pradesh State Advisory Council meeting on Right to Education Act, 2009, here today.He said that we can initially begin with starting pre-school classes in 25 percent of the schools. Such initiative can be taken in all the districts starting pre-primary classes from the schools near the district headquarters.The Chief Minister lauded the efforts for starting 'PRERNA', an initiative to improve quality education which aims at improving the learning level of students in reading, writing and numeracy skills of primary schools children from class 1 to 5.  He also appreciated the 'PARYAS', an initiative to improve science and mathematics learning from 6th to 8th class.

The Chief Minister said that the government had made mandatory to study English, Hindi and Maths from first class and the teachers  need to be dedicated to their profession.He directed for strict control by Directorate of Inspection and said that the teachers should be punctual in their attendance and should not leave before school closes.   He stressed for creating awareness among the children of their surroundings.The Chief Minister congratulated the Education department for achieving two awards under ‘Skoch Order of Merit Award'. The   first prize for text book delivery well in time and  the second for digitization of school assessment.He directed that the morning prayers of Primary, Middle, High and Senior Secondary Schools, if  in the same campus, should be held at one place at the same time.Additional Chief Secretary AJV Prasad welcomed the Chief Minister and others on the occasion.Director, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Ghanshayam Chand  presented presentation about the achievements  under SSA.Chairman, H. P. Board of School Education Balbir Tegta,  Director, Higher Education,  B.L. Binta, Dr. Director Elementary Education Manmohan Sharma were present on the occasion amongst others.
