Railway projects inaugurated in Odisha

Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha on Wednesday launched several railway projects and flagged off a train in the newly commissioned electrified section between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda in Odisha.Sinha launched the railway projects through video conferencing from Rail Sadan here.Sinha inaugurated an electrified section between Sambalpur- Jharsuguda and flagged off a special passenger train number 05311 on the Sambalpur-Jharsuguda line.Another passenger train no 58135/58136 is supposed to be run by electric loco between Sambalpur-Jharsuguda from August 24 onwards.The minister also laid the foundation stone for a railway overbridge in lieu of the Khetrarajpur level crossing gate between Sambalpur-Hirakud.He also launched Wi-Fi services at Khurda Road railway station.The minister said the ministry would focus to connect the Railways with unconnected regions.Sinha said that projects like Khurda Road-Balangir, Haridaspur-Paradeep and Angul-Sukinda lines were being monitored at the highest levels of the government and the projects will give an economic boost to the state.
