KVK Rajouri organizes 'Sankalp Se Sidhi'

Krishi Vigyan Kendra today organized Sankalp Se Sidhi (Determination to Attainment) – New India Movement (2017-2022) which was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. “Sankalp Se Sidhi” programme is being organized all over the country in which all stakeholders involved in agriculture and allied sectors, including farmers take a pledge to put in efforts which would lead to doubling of farmers’ income in the next five years.MLA Rajouri, Ch. Qamar Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion while Associate Director Extension (KVKs) SKUAST-Jammu Dr. R.K. Arora, was the guest of honour.The programme was attended by more than 400 farmers of Rajouri district, who along with MLA Rajouri and staff took pledge to work towards doubling the income of farmers by 2022. On the occasion, a video dedicated to farmers was also played with a message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Qamar Hussain asked the farmers to avail benefits of centrally sponsored schemes under agriculture sector. He also highlighted the limitations and problems faced by the farmers of Rajouri district and asked the officers of agriculture and allied departments to work with dedication and commitment for welfare of the farming community.Dr. R.K. Arora threw light on various schemes of the government and elaborated the mandates of KVK. He emphasized upon the fact that more and more farmers are connecting to KVK for exposure to new agricultural technologies.Dr.Pawan Kumar Sharma, Scientist of KVK Kathua delivered the expert lecture to discuss the schemes like PM Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Soil Health Card Scheme and other introduced by the government for achieving the objective of doubling the farmers’ income.
