Choudhary Zulfkar Ali reviews functioning of FCS&CA Department

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, on Friday said that government is making unprecedented efforts to provide adequate and timely supply of ration to people of the state in fair and transparent manner.The Minister said this during a review meeting held with the senior functionaries of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department, here today.Commissioner Secretary FCS&CA Department, Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Director FCS&CA, Ch Rashid Azam Inquilabi, Joint Director FCS &CA, Deputy Director (Planning), Assistant Directors, Tehsil Supply Officers besides other senior functionaries of the department were present in the meeting.The Minister reviewed district wise stock and supply position of food grains in Jammu region and was informed that sufficient quantity of food grain stock has been dispatched to all the districts. 

He was apprised of district wise status of ration requirements and supply position thereof.The Minister asked the FCS & CA functionaries to ensure that the consumers get all essential commodities as per the fixed quota and the timelines as well. He exhorted upon them to maintain financial discipline and all records properly adding any laxity in this regard would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against the erring officials.The Minister called upon the officers to expeditiously complete the process of Aadhaar seeding of rationees adding that the step will help eradicate duplicity besides enforcing transparency and accountability.The Minister also reviewed the status of distribution of new ration cards and directed the officers to complete the allotment of the remaining in a time bound manner.
