Rajouri administration selects 14 media-persons for fellowship in dev admin

District Administration has selected 14 Journalists from print and electronic media for fellowships in Development Administration.The fellowships were announced on the eve of Independence Day after completion of selection process.The media persons selected for fellowships include Sumit Bhargav (Greater Kashmir), Emroz Suri (Electronic media), Sahil Sharma (The News Now), Sushil Sharma (Early Times), Arif Qureshi (State Observer), Gagan Kohli (Dainik Jagran) and Imran Khan (Excelsior / Observer).The committee also selected Tazeem Malik (Kashmir Times), Umar Arshad (Lazawal), Akhil Mahajan (State Times), Avinash Jasyal (ABP News), Shakti Paul (DD News), Jamsheed Malik (Gulistan News/ Udaan) and Madhur Gupta (JK Channel).Meanwhile, candidature of some applicants has been reserved in view of shortcomings in documents and proof of residence.

The selected fellows will get specific assignment in the field of Disaster Management, Rescue & Rehabilitation, Health & Family Welfare, Rural Development, Rural Sanitation, Social Welfare, Education, Tourism and Farm Sector among others.They will be assigned specific areas including villages for studying implementation of schemes, eliciting public response and feedback, and coming with recommendations of improvement as well as strategies for filling gaps apart from documentation and replication of best practices.The fellowship carries Rs 20,000, Certificate of merit and citation. The fellowship in development administration will lay stress on best practices in Information, Education and Communication.Minister for Information and Public Relations will handover certificates and citations to the selected fellows later this month.Meanwhile, a counselling cum training session will be organised for induction of candidates to take up designated projects.District Information Centre, Department of Information and Public Relations is nodal department for fellowships in Development Administration. District Information Officer, Rajouri shall be nodal officer for coordination.
