Neither the pharmacist nor the Multi-purpose Female Health Workers (MPFHWs) posted at the facility had turned up for duty at 11:45 am when the above picture was clicked by a man accompanying his ill wife.Several patients had to wait for hours together as the staff failed to turn up at Medical Aid Centre in Machipora village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district even at noon.Neither the pharmacist nor the Multi-purpose Female Health Workers (MPFHWs) posted at the facility had turned up for duty at 11:45 am when the above picture was clicked by a man accompanying his ill wife.The centre was established to cater to the local population in this far-flung area.A pharmacist and some MPFHWs are posted at the facility established for providing medical aid and immunization services in the area.Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara Dr Prehlad Singh told that action will be taken against the staff.“I will look into the issue. And action will be taken against erring staffers,”  said CMO.
