State Cooperative Bank gets three National Awards

The Himachal Pradesh  State Cooperative Bank has been conferred upon with three National Level Awards by NAFSCOB (National Federation of State Cooperative Banks) for the year 2015-16 in different categories. These awards were presented to the Bank in a special ceremony organized by NAFSCOB on 10th and 11th August,2017 at ChennaiThe Bank was awarded the first prize in the country for overall performance whereas Bank's training institute, ACSTI Sangti, bagged second prize for best performing training institute in the country. Besides the Talai G/S cooperative society limited, affiliated with Bank's Shahtalai branch has been given the third prize in the category of best performing primary agriculture society in the country.Receiving the award, the Chairman of the HP State Cooperative Bank Shri Harsh Mahajan expressed gratitude for acknowledging Bank's performance. He said that outstanding performance was the result of dynamic leadership and able guidance and vision of Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh and farsightedness of the BoDs of the Bank and untiring efforts of the officers and employees of the Bank. 

He said the bank is providing ultra modern banking services to its customers and at the same time, catering to the needs of cooperative societies.He said about 2600 cooperative societies are affiliated to the bank and with the support of NABARD, the bank is looking forward for the computerization of primary agriculture societies.He appealed to the Central Government that the outreach of cooperative banks be acknowledged and the cooperative sector be encouraged and supported on similar pattern as nationalized banks of the country.Shri Harsh Mahajan said that during last four years, the business of the bank had increased from Rs. 9350 crore to Rs. 14000 crore, besides the bank's NPAs had declined from a level of 11.64 per cent to 5.45 per cent at a time, when the whole banking sector was struggling against increasing NPAs. He congratulated the bank management and staff for the achievements.
