Virbhadra Singh honours Sushma Verma Indian Women Cricket team member

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh honoured the member of Indian Women Cricket Team Sushma Verma at his residence Hollylodge today morning. He presented her with a cheque of rupees five lakh and offered her the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in HP police.Sushma Verma represented Indian Women Cricket Team in recently held Women Cricket World Cup Tournament, in England as a wicketkeeper.  She hails from remote village Gadheri in Himri Panchayat which falls in Shimla rural Assembly segment.Chief  Minister while lauding her achievements said that it would be an inspiration for other young players of the state. He said that there was no dearth of budding talents in Himachal Pradesh. Sushma has brought laurels to not only to the state but the country as a whole.Sushma Verma thanked the Chief Minister and President State Youth Congress Shri Vikramaditya Singh for recognizing her achievements. She said that it was a dream realized as she always aspired to serve in police since her childhood.She was accompanied by her father Shri Bhopal Verma and Gadheri Panchayat Pradhan Shri Jagdish Verma.

Director General of Police Shri Somesh Goyal, Director Sports and Youth Services Shri Amarjeet Singh, Arjun Awardee and Joint Director Sports Smt. Suman Rawat were also present on the occasion amongst others.
