DC reviews development works in Surankote

Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, today conducted an extensive tour of sub division Surankote and inspected various development works being executed in the area.DC was accompanied by SDM Surankote, executive engineers of irrigation and flood control and PWD, tehsildar besides other officers. During the tour, the deputy commissioner visited different sites and assessed the status of development works being carried out by different executing agencies.He also visited the rain affected areas and assessed the damage and destruction caused to the people and their property.

At Surankote town, the DC took stock of construction of -lanes drains, culverts besides construction of main Surankote town road being executed by BRO.The DC along with executive engineer of irrigation and flood control visited the flood affected areas and took stock of the status of flood protection works.Zargar instructed the executive engineer to speed up the works on flood prone zones and complete at earliest so as to save the agriculture areas from further erosion.At Surankote, the DC enquired about the status of college building work and asked the executing agency to speed up the pace of work for its early completion. He directed the officer of municipality Surankote to map the drainage system so that safe and reliable drainage system can be provided to the people of the town.Later, Deputy Commissioner convened a review meeting with the concerned officers to take stock of the status of ongoing schemes.On the occasion, the DC enquired about the status of ongoing major road projects.
