DC reviews Independence Day arrangements

Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahamad Zargar today convened an officers’ meeting to review arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations.The meeting was informed that the Celebration will began with playing of Shahnai Wadan by the Information department and the main function will be held at sports stadium Poonch where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the march past to be presented by contingents of J&K Police, JKAP, BSF, CRPF, Fire & Emergency Services,   NCC cadets, Home Guards and school children.Reviewing the security arrangements, Zargar asked for sensitization of security in and around the main venue. The Traffic department was directed to identify space for parking of vehicles near the venues.

Other arrangements which were discussed in the meeting included arrangements of seating, illumination of buildings, barricading, PAS, availability of drinking water facility, transport arrangements and cultural programmes.The Deputy Commissioner directed PDD and PHE for uninterrupted Power and water supply on the occasion. He also asked the Health department for adequate healthcare arrangements at the main locations with proper staff, ambulance and medicare.ADDC, Abdul Hamid, ADC Gurvinderjeet Singh, ASP, Masroor Mir, ACR Ashraf Chowdhary, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD, CMO, District Youth Welfare Sports officer, EO municipality, CEO, ARTO, Officers from 93 Infantry brigade, BSF besides other concerned officers and officials attended the meeting.
