DDC reviews performance of education, allied sectors at Kupwara

The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened a joint interactive session with Chief Education Officer, Youth Services and Sports Officer, Principals, ZEOs and Wardens GB and Pahari Hostel representatives  to review  overall performance of the educational  scenario, Sports activities, academic and construction status under different schemes implemented  by the said departments   in Kupwara district.The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara impressed upon the concerned functionaries  for  taking their jobs seriously as per the expectations of the society, as the teachers are playing an important role in improving the overall mental and physical development of the students. He stressed for formulating a detailed curriculum and extra-curricular activities in educational institutions to achieve better results.

On the occasion, the Chief Education Officer Kupwara briefed the meeting about the overall functioning of  the education and other allied sectoral activities under devised schedule.

It was given out that 1423 educational institutions are functioning in district Kupwara which include 40 HSSs,103 HSs,672 MSs and 608 PSs besides  89 Middle,759 Primary, 1944 Additional Class Rooms under SSA  school buildings stands  completed .The District Youth Services and Sports officer informed the meeting that several sports competitions under curriculum activities were conducted by the department at various levels in the district with a participation of 11762 supports aspirants’, 256 competed in quiz competition at divisional level, 25 national level while 52761 scholarships were recommended and the programme scheduled under supports activities have been devised on the instruction of higher ups.The CEO Kupwara, Chief Planning Officer, District Youth Service and Supports officer and principals of various higher secondary schools besides zonal level officers were present in the meeting.
