A meeting of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (LA) was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA Bashir Ahmed Dar to review the functioning of Power Development Department.A threadbare discussion was held in connection with the examining and scrutinizing the rules, regulations, bye-laws of Power Development Department.Legislators Mubarak Gul, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Altaf Ahmed Wani and Dr Krishan Lal attended the meeting and gave their suggestions regarding the further improvement and amendment in Power Development Department.The Committee directed the concerned authorities to frame SRO for casual labours died or were handicapped due to electric shock. It was directed to recover cent percent revenue from the consumers so that the department loss could be covered and utilize the same in other propose of the department.The Committee discussed the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUJY) and asked the concerned authorities to implementation of the scheme so that all the left out villages of the state could be covered under electrification scheme.

The Committee sought suggestions from the concerned Officers of PDD department for the creation and amendment in the existing rules and submit the same in its next meeting so that the suggestions will be incorporated in the rules, regulation for the betterment of the department.Commissioner Secretary PDD, Dheeraj Gupta briefed the Committee about the working of the Department and different rules, regulations and bye-laws of the department.Among others Managing Director, JKPDC, Shah Faesal, Development Commissioner Power, Chief Engineer, Project Wing, Chief Engineer, M&RE Wing Jammu, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Engineer, S&O Kashmir, Chief Engineer PDC, Chief Engineer (C&S), Chief Engineer Projects Kashmir, Director Finance PDD, Director Planning, PDD, besides Secretary Assembly, M R Singh, senior officers and officials of concerned department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
