In order to create maximum employment opportunities for the youth, training of vocational courses is being provided in the district through Punjab Skill Development Mission under Din Dyal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushal Yojna in assistance with Centre govt to 150 youngsters of poor families at 4 various skill centres.Elaborating this Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said that though these skill centres youngsters are being encouraged to become self employed so that they could become self-reliant in the economic level too. She said that 3 skill centre in rural area and 1 in urban area is being operated by ILF&S Corporation in the district. She said that skill centres are working at village Daun, village Khelan, village Saini Majra and Phase- 11. She said that courses being offered at these centres are Retail, Customer Care Executive, Beauty & Wellness courses etc. Essential qualification for the courses on retail, customer care executive is matriculation whereas for beauty and wellness the candidate must have passed 8th standard. She said that training course of 776 hours and 872 hours is being provided to Retail & Customer Care Executive respectively. 

Free uniforms, text books, travelling allowance are being provided to the candidates during training period.Deputy Commissioner said that beauty and wellness course is also being provided at Daun centre; where at 8th standard passed candidates could obtain training. She said that 35 candidates are getting training in this course and this training is for 900 hours and free uniform, text books and travelling allowance is being provided to the candidates during training course. She said that training is being provided to the candidates by the experienced trained staff. She said that 320 hours training is being provided on Retail course at urban skill centre at Phase -11 and for this the candidate must have passed matriculation. In this course 30 candidates are getting training. She said that after training certificates are also provided to the candidates. She appealed the youngsters to approach these skill development centres and to ensure admission for training on vocational courses, so that they could become self independent and economically stable.
