Delegation of Pahari, Gojri speaking people call on Chief Secretary

A delegation of Pahari and Gojri speaking people led by MLA Rajouri, Mr Qamar Hussain, MLA Mendhar, Mr Javed Ahmad Rana and MLA Gulabgarh, Mr Mumtaz Ahmad Thursday called on Chief Secretary here at the Civil Secretariat.The delegation presented a memorandum of demands for consideration of the Government including the implementation of Forest Right Act for the benefit of the Gujjar Bakerwal Community.The delegation also demanded introduction of Pahari and Gojri language, in the School curriculum upto 10th Standard, so that the students belonging to the Pahari and Gojri community opt for these languages, as one of the subjects, instead of languages, they do not speak.Chief Secretary assured the delegation that their demands will be examined in the most appropriate manner.
