Punjab Government Committed To Bring Economically Weaker Sections Into Mainstream: Sadhu Singh Dharamsot

"The Punjab Government is committed to generate avenues of employment for the economically weaker sections of the society so as to include them in the mainstream and provide opportunities for a better life."Disclosing this, the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that in order to make the graduate youth of the state hailing from SC category skilled enough to increase their chances of employment, free training pertaining to English and Punjabi stenography apart from basic computer for 1 year would be provided during session 2017-18. He said that after finishing their training, the youth would not only be capable of earning handsome salaries in private and Government sector but could also start their own typing ventures.Mr. Dharamsot further elaborated that the selected youth would be provided this training in stenography training institutions of Amritsar, Ferozepur, Patiala and S.A.S. Nagar free of cost. Divulging more, he said that the applications with regard to the training can be submitted to District Welfare Officer, Ambedkar Bhawan, Tehsilpura, Amritsar, District Welfare Officer, Ambedkar Bhawan, Mallwal Road, Ferozepur, District Welfare Officer, Ambedkar Bhawan, Sewa Singh Thikriwala Nagar, Patiala and Principal, Ambedkar Institute, Sector-60, 3B2, Mohali till 25th July.

Disclosing more, the minister said that under the scheme, the training would be provided to unemployed youth of the state belonging to SC category who need to be atleast a graduate and whose annual family income must be in accordance with the fixed criteria. He also said that the interview of the eligible candidates upto 30 years of age would be held on 31st July at 10 AM in the concerned institutions by the departmental selection committee. He also revealed that the selected youth would be given student scholarship to the tune of Rs. 1500 per month during training.Mr. Dharamsot further detailed that the purpose of the State Government is to ensure the welfare of weaker sections of the society and has kept Rs. 17.66 crore and Rs. 2.44 crore respectively for Punjab Scheduled Castes Corporation and BACKFINCO for the purpose of advancing loans at the subsidized rates to the youth who belong to Scheduled caste, Backward Classes and Minority category so as to help them in starting their own ventures in different sectors.
