Virbhadra Singh inaugurates Rs. 105 crore Garohg-Gandhal DWSS at Sainj

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh along-with Irrigation and Public Health Minister Smt. Vidya Stokes inaugurated the ambitious Rs 105.57 crore Garohg-Gandhal drinking water supply scheme at Sainj in Shimla Rural Assembly segment today.The inauguration of the biggest water supply scheme of the state in Shimla Rural assembly segment would   benefit 778 habitations of 39 panchayats of the area catering to the population of around 82,000 till the year 2033. The scheme would uplift 7.00 million litres water per day. The panchayats to be benefitted are Anandpur, Baggi, Baichary, Bainsh, Bathmana, Chailly, Chanog, Devnagar, Dhamoon, Dhudhalti, Galoon, Ghannahatti, Ghech, Halog, Jalel, Nehra, Neri, Rampuri, Shakrah, Thari, Totu, Mehli, Kot, Rajhana, Shamlaghat, Baloh, Okhru, Chebri, Shakrori, Basantpur, Reog, Gharyana, Juni, Mandhorghat, Challahal, Thachi, Kotla, Nehra and Chanoug.The foundation stone of the ambitious  scheme was laid by the Chief Minister in January  2015 and it has been completed within a time-bound period of two and a half years. 

To uplift the water for the scheme from Sainj Nallah to main water reservoirs at Garogh -Ghandal for further distribution to the panchayats, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Rs 9.95 crore 33 KV electricity sub station at Dargi. MPP and Power Minister Shri Sujan Singh Pathania also present on this occasion. Addressing the gathering at Dargi, the Chief Minister complimented the Irrigation and Public Health department for the accomplishment much ahead of time which would prove a boon in times to come. He said that he believes in development and studies the projects before its implementation. He said that if the officers in all the 68 constituencies work with committment keeping in view the target and time frame for the completion of the projects, no doubt Himachal Pradesh would fast tread on the path of progress. "I have never differentiated between the regions as far as development is concerned", he said adding that development adds to individual prosperity.He also announced a Veterinary dispensary at Macharana in GP Chanoug. 

State Youth Congress President Shri Vikramaditya Singh, while addressing the gathering complimented the IPH department and UNIPRO Company for completing one of the ambitious water supply scheme of Shimla Rural much ahead of time which would provide 24 hours running water to the people. He said the constituency had become the most developed constituency of the State. He said that new building of Industrial Training Institute at Dargi would soon be dedicated to the people besides the school building of senior secondary school. He said that the people should not play politics in name of development and be aware of people who try to misguide the people.Chairperson, Zila Parishad Smt. Dharmila Harnot, BCC, President Shimla Rural, Shri Chandershekhar Sharma, BCC President Mahila Congress, Ms. Anita Sharma, Pradhan Gram Panchayat, Challahal Shri Chiranji Lal, President Panchayat Samiti, Basantpur, Shri Pradeep Verma, Chairperson, Panchayat Samriti, Mashobra, Smt. Meena, Member, BoD, HPSIDC Shri Pramod Sharma were also present on the occasion amongst others.
