As the lotus flower remains in the water but different from the same similarly the devotee after God-knowledge living in the world remains different from the world, in other words he does not indulge with the people and things of the world, it was expressed by Shri Tarsem Singh, Mukhi of Sec. 40 area, while addressing thousands of nirankari devotees at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan Sec. 30-A. Earlier Shri Mohinder Singh, Parmukh of Chandigarh Branch has informed that twelve couples tied their nuptial knot at a mass marriage ceremony organized by the Social Welfare Department of the Sant Nirankari Mission at Delhi tomorrow.  The mass marriages were organized in a simple ceremony.  While His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji and Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji blessed the couples, hundreds of devotees including the parents, friends and relatives of the brides and bridegrooms, attended the ceremony.Among the bridegrooms, one of them was the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa singing competition on Zee, Kamal Khan married Ekta Thind from Patiala, Punjab.   The simple ceremony was marked by the traditional Jaymala followed by a Common Garland for each couple – a special feature of a Nirankari wedding.  Four Lawan were recited by singers with full spirit of devotion.  After each of them, His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, showered the flower-petals from the dais.  The devotees also joined them in showering the flowers. Shri Singh also told that His Holiness while blessing the couples, said that all the families are already connected with the Mission, enlightened with God-knowledge and following the path of Satsang (holy congregations), Sewa (selfless service) and Simran (remembrance of God).  He hoped that the brides and bride-grooms will continue to encourage each other towards spiritual upliftment along with their family and social responsibilities, of course.  Baba Ji said that pine qualities of love, compassion, humility, tolerance and cooperation, etc.  are not only advised for the couples, they are equally essential for every member of the family.  This will certainly make their life happy and the atmosphere of the family pleasant, he said.  He prayed for the couples so that they lead a happy and blissful life socially as well as spiritually.The mass marriages are gradually becoming popular in the Sant Nirankari Mission.  Prior to this, the Mission organized a similar function in Delhi on October 2, 2012 where 31 couples tied their nuptial knot.
