Time has come for zero-waste Delhi : Anil Baijal

Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal on Saturday said that the latest technology should be used for waste management as the time had come for a zero-waste Delhi.Baijal's remarks came after he visited the construction and demolition (C&D) waste processing facility at Shastri Park in east Delhi.Baijal ordered the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) to explore the possibility of enhancing the capacity of the Shastri Park C&D plant as well as the Ghazipur Waste to Energy Plant, a statement said.He assured all support from his side for the same.Baijal also directed EDMC officials to ensure prevention of vector-borne diseases and water-logging during the monsoon season.The Lt Governor visited many areas like Gandhi Nagar, Geeta Colony, IP Extension and Keshav Kunj to review the sanitation situation, the statement added.
