Sham Choudhary lays foundation of WSS at Sopore

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today laid the foundation stone of Water Supply Scheme at Watlab Sopore.

The Minister was accompanied by MLA Sopore Abdul Rasheed Dar, Chief Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, ADC Sopore, EXN’s, AEE’s besides various other officers of line departments.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that ensuring potable drinking water to every household is the priority of the Government. He also said that present government is committed to provide basic amenities to the people.Later the Minister convened a meeting here to review the pace and position of various developmental projects in Sopore.Mr Sham Choudhary stressed upon the concerned authorities to work in synergy and zeal for the timely completion of all ongoing projects.Meanwhile the Minister ensured all kind of support to get the projects completed within set time frame.The scheme will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 719.93 lakh. Wular Lake is the source of the scheme and will cater drinking water supply to 48562 inhabitants in Sopore town and 53265 others in rural area.
