DDC Ganderbal flags-off first batch of Yatris from Baltal Base Camp

District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today flagged off first batch of Yatris for their pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Shri Amarnathji in wee hours, from Base Camp Baltal. A large number of pilgrims are scheduled to pay obeisance at holy cave today out of which 6387 pilgrims have left for holy cave till 11. 00 am.DDC also chaired a high level meeting of officers in Baltal and took stock of all the arrangements being provided to yatris. All the District Officers briefed the DDC about the arrangements made for the Yatris. District Administration has made fool proof arrangements for the smooth conduct of Annul Amarnath Yatra 2017.DDC directed the concerned officers for maintaining close Co-ordination and to work with a team spirit during the Yatra. Regarding security, DDC was apprised that Jammu and Kashmir police, ITBP and CRPF personnel have been deployed all along the twin routes to ensure safety and security of the pilgrims.
