Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi reviews status of Gurez road projects

Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, Wednesday convened a meeting of senior officers of R&B Department and Beacon authorities to review the status of various road projects in Gurez area.During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker directed R&B Department and the Beacon authorities to take all necessary steps to complete all ongoing road projects in the Gurez sector within the shortest possible time so that the road access to the area is improved.He also asked the concerned to start work on all the approved pending works so that the people of Gurez valley could be benefitted. The land acquisition and road tendering process was also discussed in the meeting.Threadbare discussions were also held on the declaration of Srinagar-Bandipora-Gurez road as a strategic one by the Ministry of Defense. It was said that the Deputy Speaker has already had a meeting with Defence Minister Arun Jaitley in this regard.Among others, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Sajad Hussain, Chief Engineer PMGSY Malik Basharat, Director Planning PWD Tariq Ahmed, Superintendent Engineer R&B Showkat Pandit, OC 56 RCC Major Praveen Koshy, Executive Engineer SSD Gurez Sheikh Basharat and senior officers of R&B Department and Beacon were also present in the meeting.
