Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated in Jammu with religious fervor

MLA, officers of civil, police adm greet Muslim brethren

Like other parts of the country and State, the Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Jammu with religious fervor and gaiety. All the Mosque in Jammu city were decorated magnificently and markets witnessed huge rush of people who were busy in purchasing sweets, gifts and clothes.The mega Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayer was held at Eidgah, Residency Road, where thousands of devotees offered Namaz.In his religious sermon, the Imam, who led the congregational prayers threw light on this sacred festival and said  that the spirit behind observance of Eid-ul-Fitr is to express our thanks to Almighty Allah for granting courage to observe fast in the month of Ramadhan and rededicate ourselves to the path of truthfulness, sincerity, self-control, patience and human dignity.On the occasion, MLA Rajesh Gupta, Divisional Commissioner, Dr  M K Bhandari, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Dr S D Singh Jamwal, ADC  Dr Arun Manhas, besides other senior functionaries of civil and police administration were also present and exchanged Eid greetings with Muslim brethren and prayed for peace and tranquility in the State.Elaborate arrangements were made by the district administration for celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
