Punjab to take up issue with the union Government : Charanjit Singh Channi

ITI Employees Association submits memorandum regarding their demands and suggestions for betterment of Industrial Training Institutes

As annual academic session of ITI’s ending in the month of July every year many passing out students of ITI’s could not meet the admission date deadlines in diploma courses of the Technical Education institutes for higher education. Taking a serious notice of the development, the Punjab Technical Education minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that the Punjab Government would soon take up the issue with the Union Government for rescheduling annual academic session of ITI’s from the month of June to May.Mr. Channi said that one academic year of ITI students is wasted just due to present academic session of ITI’s that ends in July and after this it takes almost a month to declare results. He said that by the date the results were pronounced the dates for admission in diploma courses lapses and students of ITI’s were not able to get admissions for higher studies. 

A delegation of Punjab ITI Employees Association met Technical Education Minister and gave a detailed representation regarding this faulty system. The Technical Education Minister assured them that the Punjab Government would make all efforts to solve this issue on priority. On this occasion the ITI employees also proposed to implement the sports grading system for ITI students and to start inter state ITI games. Prominent among others present on the occasion included Mr. Davinder Singh President, Technical Education Employees Association, Sarabjit Singh General Secretary, Mr. Prabhjot Singh, Vice President, Harvinder Singh Vice President, Mr. Tajinder Singh Secretary, Mr. Amardeep Gill Additional Secretary, Bhupinder Singh, Harjit Singh, Finance Secretary and Shobhna Nagpal, the managing secretary.
