DC takes stock of Jumat-ul-vida, Eid-ul-fitr arrangements

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmed Zargar today reviewed the arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e- Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements being put in place by district administration for the auspicious days.Additional Superintendent of Police, Masroor Ahmed Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ashraf Choudhary, Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers of   PDD, PHE,AD FCS&CA, CEO municipality, Food Safety Officer, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Tehsildar Haveli, representatives from other concerned departments,  besides religious clerics and other representatives of various Muslim organizations were present in the meeting.The functionaries apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the role and responsibilities of departments in ensuring effective delivery of service.  The deputy commissioner asked PDD to   avoid unscheduled cuts during night prayers, while PHE department was asked to ensure regular supply of water during the auspicious days. It was decided to install temporary washrooms near Eidgah.The DC asked for intensifying market inspections to check quality of eatables and overcharging.

The DC stressed for close coordination among all concerned departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time.Executive engineer PHE was directed to make temporary arrangement of washrooms near ‘Eidgah’ and ensure uninterrupted water supply during these days of Ramdhan and on the day of Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid- ul- Fitr.Similarly, executive engineer PDD was asked to make some suitable arrangements of power supply and avoid un-scheduled power cuts to avoid any inconvenience to the people.Municipal Corporation and Urban Local Bodies were asked to start cleanliness drive in the district under Swatch Bharat Mission and identify the suitable places where day to day   garbage can be dumped and disposed off.The meeting was informed   that three month advanced ration items have been provided to the rationees and the exercise of providing kerosene oil to the targeted beneficiaries has also been started in the district.The DC directed the concerned officers to start a drive for regular market checking in the evening hours to check unfair trade practices and   quality of eatables being provided to the consumers.Meanwhile, the DC asked the concerned officers to carry similar exercises in rural areas of the district.
