DDC reviews power scenario of Kulgam

The District Development Commissioner, Kulgam today chaired a meeting to review the power scenario in Kulgam.All issues related to availability of power supply, voltage drop, unscheduled cuts during Ramadan were discussed with the stakeholders including the officers of PDD.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the PDD department to ensure the round the clock power supply to town Kulgam  as per the prescribed schedule.The meeting apprised the DDC that PDD is going to improve the much needed LT & HT network in the district, cabling of 12 kms in town, replacing 35 kms of LT network besides creating 250 new sub stations under different schemes in the current financial year.Under Deen  Dayaal Upadhayaya (DDU) and IPDS, it was given out that PDD is going to establish new receiving stations at Ashmuji, Bogund, Manzgam, Nagam, Bagi Wanpow, of different capacities besides argumentation of existing Yaripora, Devsar and DH Pora receiving stations to meet the public demands.

The DDC stressed upon the Officers to strengthen the existing LT, HT network besides the argumentation of sub stations which are overloaded at an earliest. The DDC was apprised in the meeting regarding the status of establishment of transformer bank and workshop in the Kulgam town..Furthermore, the issue of repairment of damaged transformers in the town was also discussed and it was impressed upon the PDD that all the damaged transformers should be repaired at an earliest on first come service basis and be installed at their respective locations immediately.The meeting was informed that after the argumentation of Kulgam main Grid Station to 70 MVA, the overall voltage and power scenario has been improved a lot.The others who attended the meeting includes SE, Xens of Kulgam and Bijbehara Divisions, besides the representatives of Transmission and Distribution Wing and other field functionaries of PDD department.
