DC for speeding up de-silting work in Flood Spill Channel

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone today called on the concerned officials to speed up the desilting work on Jhelum Flood Spill Channel and complete this project in the stipulated time frame so that Srinagar is saved from floods in future.The DC visited the Bemina and Sharifabad and inspected the on ground work. Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC), Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Executive Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.During the visit the Deputy Commissioner said that the wok has already been started at these places with the help of men and machinery. He directed the concerned to deploy 15 additional machines immediately on the stretch so that the work is expedited.
