Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary inaugurated recreational park at Layian, Panchayat Cahduchak in RS Pura developed at a cost of Rs. 52 lakh.The park, which was a long pending demand of the people of the border area, has been created under convergence mode with 13th FC, BADP and MGNREGA by the Department of Rural Development.SDM RS Pura Sushil Kumar, ACD Jammu Tasir Balwan, Executive Engineer Parveez Malik, BDO RS Pura Sanchi Mishra and other senior officers of concerned department were present on the occasion.Addressing a large gathering of locals after inaugurating the park, the Minister said the government is laying special focus on creation of durable infrastructural facilities in all vital sectors during the past two years which is being acknowledged by the people. He asked the people to take care of all public utilities created by the government for their own convenience and urged them to help maintain the beautiful park.He further said the green patches act as lungs by purifying the polluted air emanating from vehicles and other sources and provide recreational facilities to the citizens. 

The government is keen to reach out to people in every area, address their grievance and accommodate the demands in a phased manner to ensure holistic and integrated development of every region of the State, he added.Later, the Minister also inaugurated the curtain Raiser programme of 2nd phase of Football Tournament “Oorja” under-19 Football talent Hunt-2017 (Boys and Girls) being organized by SSB at Jammu from June 12 to June 18, 2017.The curtain raiser programme held at Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground, Jammu witnessed scintillating cultural programmes performed by SSB Jawans and artists of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.On the occasion, Deputy Inspector General, SHQ, SSB, Jammu, Manvendra informed in detail about necessity of Oorja Football Tournament in nurturing the talent of youth in the state. He informed that International player of Judo, Tajamul Islam has been declared as Brand Ambassador of Oorja Football tournament-2017.
