DDC Kulgam holds Public Durbar

Continuing its efforts to reach out to the public at grass route level, District Development Commissioner Kulgam today held a Public Durbar at Town Hall Devsar.The Darbar was participated by a large gathering of people including the villages of Akhall, Dardgund, Lammer, Brinal, Manigam, Shahoo Sachin, Lankerpombay, Hablishi, Nowpora, Chowgam, Sopat, Kilam and Kund Valley.The people put forth different demands before the DDC which includes augmentation of Receiving Station Devsar, completion of work on PHC Devsar, HS Akhall, improvement in the drinking water supply and power distribution in the upper belts of Devsar Tehsil besides banning of illegal brick kilns which are coming up in the adjoining areas of agricultural land of Devsar area.The DDC also directed the Tehsildar Devsar to submit a factual report regarding the reports of unauthorized brick kilns within a week’s time.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC also stressed upon officers present to be proactive and responsive towards public grievances. The District Administration will leave no stone unturned to improve its public delivery system so as to meet the expectations of people, he told gathering.The darbar was attended by Tehsildar Devsar, BMO Qazigund, Xens of PDD, PHE, R&B Qazigund, Executive Officer MC, BDO, CDPO, ZEO, TSO, Devsar, besides the representatives of different trade unions & Auquf committees of said Tehsil.
