In a major breakthrough, the Punjab Police has arrested two members of a radical gang namely for their involvement in unlawful and criminal activities.Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Punjab Police said that the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police has arrested Gurjeet singh @ Gaggu @ Ghaint s/o Salwinder Singh r/o of Wadala Granthia, PS Sekhwan, Gurdaspur and Gurmukh Singh s/o Sukhwinder Singh r/o Talwandi Nahar, from Kultham Railway Station in the jurisdiction of Behrampur Police Station. The Police has registered FIR no. 44 dated 05.06.2017 u/s 121, 121-A IPC, 10/13 Unlawful Activities Act and 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Mukandpur and recovered One 9mm bore country made pistol from Gurjeet Singh.The spokesperson further said that Gurjeet Singh @ Ghaint has a criminal past, and he was earlier arrested for his role in the conspiracy to attack a Shiv Sena leader. 

The arrest of Gurjeet Singh has led to detection of two untraced criminal cases. During preliminary investigations, Gurjeet Singh has disclosed that he and his criminal associates had shot at and seriously injured Baba Maan Singh in village Rodeana, PS City Kalanaur, district Gurdaspur in 2015. FIR no. 20 dated 31.03.2015 u/s 307 IPC 25/54/59 Arms act PS Kalanaur, District Gurdaspur was registered in this connection.Likewise, in another case of 2013, Gurjeet Singh, alongwith Gurmukh Singh s/o Sukhwinder Singh and his other associates, also tried to break an ATM machine in village Bhatian, PS Kalanaur, district Gurdaspur.The spokesperson further said that Investigations carried out so far have revealed that Gurjeet Singh was being funded by Malkeet Singh @ Fauji r/o Talwandi Nahar, PS Ramdas, district Amritsar (Rural), who is presently residing in Canada, in carrying out his militant and criminal activities. Further investigations are in progress.
