Charanjeet Singh chairs Petitions Committee meet

A meeting of the Petitions Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of S. Charanjeet Singh to discuss the petitions which have been filed before it.Legislators, Javid Ahmad Mirchal, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Chief Engineer (PMGSY), Malik Bashrat Ahmad, Special Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Leena Padha, besides other Senior Officers of concerned Department and Council Secretariat attended the meeting. The Committee discussed the petitions of Mohammad Ali, Haji Mohammad Ali and Sheikh Mohammad of district Kargil relating to the land and tree compensation and called upon the concerned authorities to take immediate measures on the petitions. The concerned authorities apprised the Committee on the issue and maintained that the compensation for some potion of land has been paid to the concerned and some of it is still payable due to dispute between the land owners.The Committee also took stock of the status of other petitions which are pending disposal and directed the Council Secretariat to follow the matter with the concerned authorities and ascertain the facts so that the same are disposed off accordingly.
