Two militants have been killed in an encounter at Nathipora area of Sopore in North Kashmir on Thursday morning.Official sources told GNS that government forces including army and SOG cordoned off the suspected area in Nathipora village. As such the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation, the militants believed to be locals, opened fire triggering off an encounter.In the encounter, two militants were killed and there identity is being ascertained, they said. Meanwhile, authorities have barred mobile communication in parts of North Kashmir including Sopore, Handwara, Kupwara and Baramullah.A government official when contacted told GNS that the mobile communication has been stopped except BSNL in North Kashmir as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order following killing of two militants.(GNS).
