Asks management of Corporations to remain punctual in Committee meetings

Calling upon the Officers of different government departments and Corporations to remain punctual to attend the Committee meetings, Chairman, Committee on Public Undertaking (PUC) Satpal Sharma said that their regular attendance in meetings would help in finding out the solutions of observations pertaining to departments/ Corporations made by the Comptroller Audit General (CAG) from time to time.Chairing an introductory meeting of the Committee convened here today to discuss the overall functioning of the Committee, the Chairman also asked the members of the Committee to ensure their regular attendance in the meetings.  He said that their suggestions would help in making the functioning of Committee vibrant, besides prove beneficial in further streamlining the workings of departments and Corporations.Legislators, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Abdul Majeed Larmi, Rajesh Gupta, Rajeev Sharma and Raja Manzoor Ahmed attended the meeting and gave suggestions to make the working of Committee more fruitful and result oriented.

Discussing the observations made by the CAG in its previous report with regard to various departments and Corporations, the Committee decided to call JKPCC, JKPDC, Social Welfare and Industries & Commerce Departments in the next meetings respectively. A one month meeting calendar for next 4 meetings would be issued in advance so that the concerned departments will prepare accordingly, the meeting decided.The Committee asked the Assembly Secretariat to seek para-wise replies from the concerned departments and furnish it to the members of the Committee in advance so that they can prepare accordingly.  It also stressed upon the concerned officers to attend the meetings with full preparation so that the departments and Corporations related observations and issues could be solved accordingly.Among others, Special Secretary M R Singh, Deputy Secretary Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat and other senior officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
