Students of CGC Landran spread awareness on World AIDS Day

Chandigarh College of Education of CGC Landran spreads awareness on HIV AIDS, its precautions and prevention on World AIDS Day. The students formed a Human Chain and went in and around the campus to spread awareness and remind people that those who suffer from AIDS too require love and care. The fact that it doesn’t spread by eating, hugging or spending time with the infected person was spread across through Slogan writing, Poster making and chanting slogans.Dr. Neena Sawhney, Principal College of Education said, World AIDS Day is held on the 1st December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.  Our students have come together on this day to spread awareness on the deadly infection that HIV creates and spreads by forming a human chain, shouting slogans. They were also informed to get a blood test before donating blood, to not use an unattended and used needle and be cautious. They also pledged to not show indifference to an infected person but be warm and considerate. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said, ‘more than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history, in which India is not behind. Most of the problems and diseases can be treated by spreading awareness as prevention is always better than cure. To bring a change in the society the youth of the country plays a great responsibility and role. We appreciate the efforts taken by our students on this day to spread awareness and fight against it.’
