DDC reviews functioning of Rajouri Development Authority

District Development Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, on Tuesday took a detailed review of functioning of Rajouri Development Authority (RDA), in a meeting of concerned officers.ADDC, Avtar Singh Chib, CEO RDA, Shokat Mehmood Malik, CPO, Abdul Hamid, DIO, Sanjay Puri besides several others attended the meeting.Dr. Shahid asked the officers of RDA to put in dedicated efforts to tap the massive potential of eco-tourism, pilgrimage, heritage and adventure tourism in the district.Referring to the vast potential of eco and adventure tourism in the upper reaches of Budhal, Darhal and Thannamandi, the DDC asked the CEO RDA to coordinate with forest authorities in the district to prepare eco-tourism projects in convergence mode. He also instructed for beautification of Nallah and construction of waiting hall near helipad at Shahdara Sharief under convergence by RDA and RDD.

The DDC laid emphasis on beautification of entry-point to Rajouri town and construction of Heritage Museum at Rajal Nowshera. He also directed CEO RDA to prepare DPR for construction of TRC Rajouri;  for which land has been identified. He  asked the RDA authorities to involve RDD and Forest department while preparing tourism development projects.Status of progress on Swadesh Darshan under Himalayan Circuit Theme, Development of Rajouri as tourist destination under PIDDC and several other ongoing works were assessed by the DDC in details.
