PTC awards synonymous to glitz, glamour

It sure was a date with the stars at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2014 that honoured the best talents of the industry at the Multipurpose Sports Stadium, Sector 78 B, near Gurudwara Singh Shaheedan here today.Director and CEO PTC Network Rajiee M. Shinde along with Director and President, PTC Punjabi, PTC News Rabindra Narayan lit the ceremonial lamp. Adding to the glitz was the presence of other Bollywood biggies like yesteryear’s superstar Dharmendra.Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Shinde said, “PTC Film Awards is the most celebrated and prominent film event dedicated to the Punjabi film industry. And it gives us immense pleasure to be honouring the best in the industry. 

Interestingly, as the Punjabi film industry is getting better by the day, it is helping us grow too.”The stars from the industry dazzled the red carpet by looking stunning in their designer haute couture. The event kicked off with a breathtaking performance by Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi who entertained the crowds with his hits like Oh mere khuda (Prince) and Dum. Besides, singer Mika too sizzled on the stage and had the crowds tapping their feet on songs like Pungi Bajake, Long Drive. Gandi Baat, Tu Mere agal bagal among others.

Meanwhile, the heavy dose of entertainment continued as hosts for the evening Binu Dhillon, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Bajwa who indulged in spontaneous one-liners on each other were at their funniest best. Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jimmy Shergill, Mukul Dev and pya Dutta also added colour with their presence.The event that matched the standards of Bollywood with special effects on and off stage honoured the artistic and technical excellence of professionals in about 22 categories. The programme was telecast live in India, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
