Jayani Hands Over Appointment Letters To 25 Ayuarvedic Medical Officers And 34 Upvaids

Punjab Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jayani handed over appointment letters to 25 Ayuarvedic Medical Officers & 34 Upvaids here today.Speaking on the occasion Mr. Jayani said that to strengthen the Ayurvedic wing of Health Department and Punjab Government has recruited 151 Ayurvedic Medical Officers. Punjab Government has taken this initiative to strengthen Indian Medical System in the state, added Jayani.He said that demand for the free medicine supply at all Ayurvedic dispensaries has increased very fast. He said that the daily average patients coming for treatment at the dispensaries has gone from 15 to 35.

Minister said that in the state 200 Primary Health Centres, 5 Ayurvedic Hospitals, 7 Indian System of Medicines (ISM) wings & Panchkarma Centre at Mohali are being equipped with latest Ayurvedic facilities and infrastructure is also being strengthened. He said that department plans to establish 12 specialty clinics in Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and seven new Indian System of Medicines (ISM) wings in the district hospitals of Mansa, Patiala, Kapurthala, Moga, Muktsar, Faridkot and Fatehgarh Sahib.Mr. Husan Lal, Commissioner, Ayush giving details said that 361 more posts are being filled in the department and advertisement has already been issued in this regard. He added that Baba Farid University of Health Sciences would soon conduct written test for these posts.Other prominent present on the occasion included Dr. Rakesh Kumar Director, Ayurvedic Department, Dr. Bakhshish Singh, Joint Director, Ayurveda, Punjab and senior officers of the Department.
