AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed today met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and sought action against those police officers who committed atrocities against Zubair Ahmad Turray and forced him to take up arms.Er. Rasheed asked Mehbooba Mufti that what Zubair has revealed is just one among hundreds of such untold stories. Er. Rasheed asked Chief Minister to answer some simple, genuine and basic questions which Zubair has posed to the state.

He said “An honest introspection and analysis will reveal that for most of the police force and other security agencies torturing youth, forcing them to join militancy and day today use of force against peaceful protestors and political activists has become a fruitful industry and while Kashmiris are suffering on daily basis and their life has turned like a hell, this all atmosphere of uncertainty has become a money making machine for such police officers. There are dozens of such examples where police’s torture, humiliation and atrocities have acted like a catalyst to the joining of young educated youth to join militancy. Under the cover of maintaining law and order and dealing with so called anti-national elements and stone palters the sense of accountability and transparency has came to an end and not only the political establishment but the policy makers at highest level are forced to believe that killing and humiliating Kashmiris is the only resolution to issues”. Er. Rasheed told Mehbooba Mufti to take a serious note of the revelations made by Zubair in his video message and give an exemplary punishment to the police officers who forced Zubair to take up arms”.He also expressed deep concern over the media reports that army has given clean chit to Major Gogoi who had used Farooq Ahmad Dar of Badgam as human shield. Er. Rasheed said that if Army has ruled out possibility of court marshalling the major involved in the shameful act, then the incident yet again vindicates the apprehensions and the perception of Kashmiris, who have believe that New Delhi will never ever do justice with them.
