ADDC Anantnag reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements

Additional District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mr Mohammad Younis Malik today reviewed the preparations made for the smooth conduct of the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra Ji Yatra, 2017, here at Dak Bungalow Anantnag.SSP Anantnag, Mr. Zubair Ahmad Khan, Commanding Officers of 24 Battalion, 40 BN, 90 BN &163 BN of CRPF, SDM Pahalgam, CEO Pahalgam Development Authority, SE R&B, SE PHE, Xen PDD, Chief Education Officer, Tehsildar Pahalgam, Representative of SASB, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, DFOs, AD FCS&CA, EOs of Municipalities, besides officers of Tourism, SRTC and BSNL attended the meeting.SE R&B informed the meeting that a team of engineers visited the Yatra route and appraised that patchwork with protection work shall be started at the identified spots. He also informed that the department is going to start the patchwork of Khanabal-Pahalgam road on war-footing basis.CEO Pahalgam Development Authority informed that all works related to Yatra-2017 have been tendered out and work shall start within days at all locations. He informed that renovation work on 30 shelter sheds has been started.

While reviewing the arrangements of en-route transit camps, the ADDC directed the Tourism Department and the EOs of Municipalities to devise action plans and submit the same to his office so that well-coordinated directions is taken in tandem with all the concerned departments.The Chief Education Officer informed that 37 disaster centres have been identified for which the Assistant Director  FCS&CA was directed to ensure the provision of basic minimum facilities.Exn PDD apprised the meeting that the department is in the process of procuring Gensets for the Yatra and that the High Mast Lamps shall be replaced by the LED lamps within days. He also informed that Chandanwari receiving station would be functional by 20th of this month.Chief Animal Husbandry Officer sought the intervention of the district administration regarding the procurement of tags from the Insurers of the animals who are registered for Yatra.Meanwhile, CMO, Depot Manager SRTC and AD FCS&CA informed the meeting that necessary arrangements have been put in place.The Labour and Animal Husbandry departments were directed to undertake the registration process at a single spot. Besides, they were directed to maintain a database of the labourers and Ponywallas in coordination with the Tourism department.The BSLN authorities were directed to ensure proper and reliable communication facilities up to the Holy Cave well before the onset of Yatra-2017.
