Punjab invites applications for 'Jeevan Raksha Padak' Awards

The Punjab Government has invited applications from the eligible citizens through proper channel for 'Jeevan Raksha Padak' series of Awards, which would be forwarded to Ministry of Home Affairs with recommendations.Divulging the details, a spokesperson said that 'Jeevan Raksha Padak' awards would be given for meritorious acts of humane nature in saving the life of a person in incidents like drowning, accidents, fire incidents, electrocution, landslides, animal attack and rescue operation in mines etc. The award would be given in three categories- Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak, to a rescuer for saving someone's life after 1st October 2015. The award is also conferred posthumously.He further said that after approval, the decoration of the award, i.e. Medal and certificate along with the Demand Draft/Cheque of monetary allowance in respect of the awardees, are sent to the concerned recommending authorities.He said that complete applications for Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards-2017 are to be sent to the General Administration Department, Punjab through proper channel latest by 1st September, 2017, so that these could be forwarded to Ministry of Home Affairs timely.
