Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal today launched a scathing attack over Congress and termed the party as the ‘biggest enemy’ of Punjab as well as India and that it was time to show the exit to the scam ridden congress.Addressing a Public Rally here at Anaj Mandi after laying the foundation stone of Sewerage Treatment Plant worth Rs. 145 Crore, Mr. Badal called for a total elimination of the Congress and its allied parties in the ensuing general elections in order to ensure stable, accountable and development oriented NDA government under the Prime Minister ship of Mr. Narender Modi. Reiterating his ‘top priority’ of development, the Deputy Chief Minister said if NDA comes to power, all the issues regarding Punjab lying pending with the centre due to the “hostile attitude” of the Congress led UPA would be resolved.

Referring to the all round development of Punjab in the last seven years, Mr. Badal said that the state would witness a major transformation in next three years with the overhauling of the civic amenities both in urban and rural areas across the state. To ensure safe drinking water to urban habitats of the city an additional amount of Rs.150 crore would be spent for the propose, besides cementing the streets in rural and urban areas.  ith regard to the newly launched “Rahat Scheme” aimed at simplifying the tax procedure for the Punjab traders, Mr. Badal said that traders, having Rahat Card, would have to file self-declaration on a single page application for registration and could run their trade without keeping record books, and no excise official would inspect their premises.  Under this scheme, traders may also opt for lump-sum tax as per their annual turnover, he added. Mr. Badal also announced that 1 lakh tubewell connections have been released to the farmers immediately from September onwards, as the state had become power surplus after commissioning of new power plants. Badal also handed over the 62 acre land allotment letter of to ITC for setting up of Food Processing Unit worth Rs. 700 crore at Kapurthala giving direct employment to about 2000 unemployed in the state.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Mr. Kamal Sharma, President State BJP Unit, Mr. Som Parkash, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Jarnail Singh Wahad and Chairman MARKFED.
